Girton "Crofters" Carol Singing

Singing on the Doorstep 2020

Singing at Abbeyfield

Every year groups of villagers sing carols around the streets of Girton, for fun, and to raise money for charity. (In 2020 we raised money online instead, by singing on our doorsteps).

Singing in the street

Typical route- Day 1

Meet outside the Old Crown at 6.30pm. Singing in streets at the north end of Girton: Northfield, Dodford Lane, Fairway and High Street

Typical route - Day 2

The second night covers the Thorntons area. Meet at 6.30pm at the first lamp-post on Thronton Road (coming from Girton Road).

Typical route - Day 3

Meet at 6.30pm at the Sensory Garden at the Girton Road junction with Wellbrook Way, singing to Wellbrook Way and Weaver’s Field.

Some Previous Charities

We would like to thank all the villagers who have contributed to the collections over the years. In many cases we have received an additional donation after the event to bring the total up to a round number - which is why there are so many round numbers in the list below!
